Hops for Hope 2024 | A Fundraising Event for Children's Flight of Hope

This year, we are bringing our influence to a beautiful cause, hand in hand with The Triangle Luxury Collective of Compass—the Hops for Hope fundraising event. This gathering is a celebration directly impacting the lives of children who need it most. By joining, you contribute to sustaining the smiles and spirits of these beautiful children. Mark your calendar for September 14, 2024, and be a part of this uplifting event that champions the mission of Children's Flight of Hope to offer hope and healing to families through flight. From 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. At Midtown Park in North Hills, each team will showcase their craft brews for all attendees. This festival is welcoming to all ages and will include live music, food trucks, and a kids’ zone.

Hops for Hope, by Duke Health, brings together more than 30 companies and breweries in the Triangle area who are dedicated to creating accessible life-saving and life-changing care, to celebrate and highlight the impact of community and unity. This event highlights the significant influence that brings great impact when individuals unite for a common cause.

Here are a few of Children’s Flight of Hope’s passengers. We have Alana, Dawson, and Ella! They bring stories of hope and have been constantly igniting our hearts.

Meet Alana. Since 2016, she has been receiving support from Children's Flight of Hope for her retinoblastoma treatment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. They declared her in remission in 2019 and she has remained cancer-free with excellent vision. Children's Flight of Hope continues to facilitate her annual visits to her medical specialists, who monitor her closely for any signs of the cancer returning or other health issues.

Dawson, a courageous three-year-old, regularly visits Boston Children's Hospital to manage his Short Bowel Syndrome, a condition where a significant portion of his small intestine is absent, complicating nutrient absorption. To compensate for this deficiency, Dawson relies on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), a specialized method that delivers nutrients directly into his bloodstream.

Ella, a resilient nine-year-old, is battling Hirschsprung’s disease, a rare congenital disorder that impairs the large intestine. With merely 5 cm of her small intestine functioning, she depends entirely on Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for her survival. Despite the challenges posed by her condition, Ella frequently travels to participate in clinical trials and receive TPN treatments. These regular journeys are critical, as they help ensure she receives the essential nutrients needed for her growth and well-being.

Children's Flight of Hope steps in to bridge this gap, ensuring that each child and one guardian have the means to reach the care they need, as often as necessary, no matter how far.
