Life's a beach, right here in the Triangle! If you're looking for summer fun, watersports, or a bit of relaxation, Fantasy Lake Adventure Park in Wake Forest might be the perfect place for you.
Get ready to be awed by the panorama of stone cliffs lifting out of the crystal waters. Known for being the largest scuba diving park on the east coast, Fantasy Lake was originally a stone quarry in the 1800s. Construction supplied materials for various projects, some as far away as the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel. However, in 1950, the quarry was abandoned due to rapid flooding caused by a massive spring. Despite the abandonment, the large rock-crushing machine remains deep in the quarry today.
In 1980, Doye Sherrill purchased the surrounding 100 acres, transforming the quarry into a unique scuba diving and training park. Now owned by Daniel Cox, Fantasy Lake has been infused with life and love for water. Welcome to the region's largest inflatable water park.
If you thought Fantasy Lake Adventure Park had it all, just wait! Construction is happening right now and they are adding so much more excitement to the park. Be on the lookout for updates and mark your calendars for May 18th when they reopen!
