How Skin Pharm is Revolutionizing Skincare | Best of Raleigh Episode 51

When Maegan Griffin opened the doors to Skin Pharm Raleigh, she wasn’t just launching another med spa—she was introducing a whole new experience in skincare. A nurse practitioner by training and an entrepreneur at heart, Maegan built Skin Pharm to be a place where natural results, elevated design, and true connection come together.

In this episode of Best of Raleigh, we sat down with Maegan to talk about her journey from plastic surgery and dermatology to building one of the most sought-after modern skincare brands in the country—and why Raleigh was next on her list.

From Clinical Roots to a Confident Brand

Before Skin Pharm became a go-to destination for glowing, healthy skin, Maegan was in the treatment room herself—working closely with patients as a nurse practitioner. She loved the science, but saw a disconnect between the clinical and the personal.

“Patients wanted great results,” she told us, “but they also wanted connection. They wanted someone who really listened—and they wanted the space to feel as good as the results looked.”

That insight sparked a big idea: what if skincare could feel less sterile, and more like self-care?

In 2017, Maegan opened the first Skin Pharm clinic in Nashville. Since then, the brand has grown organically to include 11 clinics across five states—with Raleigh now proudly on the map.

Why Raleigh?

“Raleigh just felt right,” Maegan says. “The energy here reminds me of Nashville. It’s grounded, it’s growing, and the community is welcoming. When I visited, I met the kindest people. That Southern warmth is real.”

Skin Pharm’s Raleigh clinic, located in The Exchange, is a light-filled, thoughtfully designed space that reflects the brand’s ethos: high-end but approachable, clean but never cold. The moment you walk in, you know it’s different.

“It feels like a beautiful parlor—not a clinic,” Gretchen shared during her visit. “It’s calming, it’s curated, and the team is incredibly knowledgeable.”

More Than Skin Deep

Skin Pharm offers a highly curated menu of services—everything from Botox and microneedling to chemical peels and skin consults. But Maegan is quick to point out: this isn’t about chasing trends or doing it all.

“We test everything, and only offer what truly works,” she explains. “If we wouldn’t do it on ourselves, we won’t recommend it to our patients.”

That philosophy extends to Skin Pharm’s in-house skincare line, which features essentials like vitamin C, retinol, and peptide-rich serums. Every product is designed to be effective, but gentle—no harsh ingredients, no guesswork.

More than anything, Skin Pharm is about long-term skin health—and the ripple effect that confidence can have on your entire life.

“When someone sees results, it’s more than what’s in the mirror,” Maegan says. “They start sleeping better, dressing with more energy, showing up differently. It’s holistic. It’s empowering.”

Building with Intention

Behind Skin Pharm’s growth is Maegan’s belief in slow, intentional scaling. From hand-selecting her Raleigh team—many of whom came from medical backgrounds—to designing the space with natural light and warmth in mind, every detail is deliberate.

She’s also candid about what it takes to balance entrepreneurship and motherhood. With three young children and a rapidly growing business, her days are full—but her focus is clear.

“It’s not always about perfect balance,” she says. “It’s about being present where you are. And building a team that believes in what you’re doing makes all the difference.”

What’s Next for Skin Pharm?

With a brand rooted in connection, clean design, and clinically backed results, Skin Pharm’s future looks bright. The Raleigh team is already welcoming new patients, and there are whispers of new products—and even new locations—on the horizon.

For now, Maegan is excited to celebrate the grand opening and continue showing Raleigh what thoughtful, natural skincare really looks like.
